Baku Steel Company Ltd has begun the revival of steel industry
ABC.AZ reported that Baku Steel Company Ltd has begun the revival of steel industry from the establishment of the scholarship program Steel Scholarship.
Mr Rasim Mammadov chairman of the Company’s Supervisory Board said that “At the first stage the scholarship program is intended for students of the Azerbaijan Technical University.”
He added that "Although in the Soviet Union times the Azerbaijani metallurgy was one of the most advanced among the other countries, aging and impracticability of metallurgical enterprises reduced the interest in this sector particularly among youth which caused a shortage of personnel. Currently we are reviving our company with use of modern technologies and our main goal is to train local personnel their training both at home and abroad.”
Monthly amount of Steel Scholarship is AZN 150 and for successful students AZN 200. The scholarship competition was conducted among seven faculties and 62 students. According to its results 16 students were eligible for Steel Scholarship.
